BankOfferScout does not invent named expert personas. The byline on a research page identifies the editorial function responsible for that subject. The separate Research Standards Desk provides an additional review layer focused on evidence, attribution, freshness and consistency.
Our editorial-accountability model
Large banking topics require different research skills. Promotion qualification is not the same problem as CD maturity rules, business cash handling or ACH disputes. We therefore assign subject ownership by desk and publish what each desk is responsible for.
A desk is an organizational byline—not a claim that a fictional individual authored the page. This structure is meant to make responsibility more transparent while avoiding made-up credentials or biographies.

Open desk profile →Independent review layer
The Research Standards Desk reviews source quality, dates, attribution, internal consistency, correction handling and whether the conclusion follows the evidence. It is designed as a quality-control function separate from the topic desk that owns the page.
Standards every desk shares
- Use primary sources for material banking facts whenever available.
- Separate durable mechanics from volatile rates, offers and fees.
- Show a visible review date.
- Link readers to original or official sources.
- Correct material factual errors when confirmed.
- Keep advertising and commercial relationships separate from factual conclusions.
- End substantive research pages with an Editorial Verdict explaining the practical tradeoff.
What you will find on a desk profile
Each profile explains the desk's coverage, the evidence it prioritizes, the questions it asks, what it does not claim, how it handles time-sensitive information and how corrections are escalated.
Identity and credentials
BankOfferScout does not present these desks as licensed financial advisers, attorneys, accountants or other regulated professionals. Research desks are used for editorial accountability only. When a subject requires individualized professional advice, readers should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
Accountability and feedback
If a desk publishes a factual statement you believe is wrong, use the Contact page and include the exact URL and supporting source. See the Corrections Policy for how reports are handled.
